Genevieve Daniels concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial litigation and real estate transactions. She has extensive experience in a wide variety of commercial, employment and real estate litigation and transactional matters.  As part of her practice, Genevieve also advises and represents entrepreneurs, investors and business owners concerning employment and labor-related issues, entity formation and governance, and buying or selling a business.  Genevieve’s clients appreciate and benefit from her business-focused, yet personable, advocacy.

In her employment practice, Genevieve advises and represents business owners and human resource managers on all aspects relating to personnel and human resources management, including the hiring, firing, and discipline of employees, the creation and review of employee handbooks and other workplace policies, matters relating to wage payment, disability and leave, and compliance with federal, state and local employment-related laws. Genevieve assists clients in conducting internal investigations of alleged harassment, discrimination, retaliation and employee misconduct. She also drafts employment and executive compensation contracts, as well as agreements involving vendors, independent contractors, and severance, confidentiality, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements.

In her real estate practice, Genevieve advises and represents a wide range of commercial and residential clients, including investors, entrepreneurs, developers, business owners, property managers, condominium and home owners’ associations, and individual owners.  Genevieve’s transactional experience covers all aspects of real estate acquisition, disposition, development, use and management.  She also handles all manner of litigation related to real estate, including contractual disputes arising from the sale or purchase of real estate, actions to quiet title, landlord-tenant suits, mechanic’s lien claims, alleged municipal or governmental violations, and other litigation regarding the ownership and use of real property.   

Genevieve regularly presents seminars and presentations to business owners and real estate professionals on developments in the law. She is an active supporter of the arts and has served on the board of directors of several Chicago-based arts organizations, including Remy Bumppo Theatre Company.
